...was into spiritual things of a different nature. In the Victorian days seances were a popular part of spiritualism and the Victorian aristocracy loved to entertain their friends with elaborate parlour-room displays! Although I doubt Emily indulged in any of this, perhaps her friend did, unbeknown to her. Maybe she used an Ouija board. ...ones for spiritual activity - maybe we'd disturbed the ghosts who were used to an empty house and not one with children running about everywhere! Our family consisted of my mother, father and two younger brothers; my parents being members of the Historical Society were keen to buy a house to show my dad's huge arms and armour collection along with many antiques.
